Daydream Flowers
House series: Early Spring

One of my paper house and flower series. This is a little grey-green house that's loosely based on my neighbour's house in Almonte. It is surrounded by some of the earliest flowers to emerge in the spring: scilla, crocus, and snowdrops. I included a dried out maple leaf and some dead grasses as well to really capture that feeling of the early spring garden, when flowers are pushing their way through the leaves.
Each of my paper flowers is handmade with care and attention to detail. These flowers are made from crepe paper, card stock, wire, paint and glue. The tiny house is made from painted card stock. Using high quality materials and careful techniques ensures that my flowers will last a long time. I have also treated the piece with UV spray as a protectant.
The painted wooden box is 6 x 9 inches and 3 inches deep. There is hanging hardware on the back and it is signed. This is a one of a kind piece.
This unique shadow box would make a fun addition to a cabinet of curiosities, a bookshelf, or an art collection. I welcome custom orders for paper flowers; these shadowboxes make a wonderful, thoughtful gift.
