One of my paper house and flower series. This is a tiny log cabin set under a towering wild columbine plant. Columbine bloom in the forest here in Ontario in the late spring. I decided to juxtapose this beautiful native wildflower with a very rustic, woodland cabin. I have also placed some dried maple leaves around the cabin to give it a cozy feeling. The forest is a very special place for me.
Each of my paper flowers is handmade with care and attention to detail. These flowers are made from crepe paper, card stock, wire, paint and glue. The tiny house is made from painted card stock. Using high quality materials and careful techniques ensures that my flowers will last a long time. I have also treated the piece with UV spray as a protectant.
The painted wooden box is 6 x 9 inches and 3 inches deep. There is hanging hardware on the back and it is signed. This is a one of a kind piece.
This unique shadow box would make a fun addition to a cabinet of curiosities, a bookshelf, or an art collection. I welcome custom orders for paper flowers; these shadowboxes make a wonderful, thoughtful gift.
