A handmade paper wild iris (Iris versicolor) with leaves and a bud in a shadow box frame. These beautiful native flowers can be found blooming in wetlands across Eastern North America.
The painted wooden box is 6 x 9 inches and 1.5 inches deep. It is a beautiful deep teal colour with a faint line running around the inside of the box to frame the flower. There is hanging hardware on the back and it is signed.
Each of my paper flowers is handmade with care and attention to detail. This flower is made from fine crepe paper and the details have been painted with acrylic paint. Each petal is wired so the flower will keep its shape over time. Using high quality materials and careful techniques ensures that my flowers will last a long time. This flower has also been sprayed with a UV protectant to prevent fading. I include care tips with each purchase.
This unique shadow box would make a fun addition to a cabinet of curiosities, a bookshelf, or an art collection. I welcome custom orders for paper flowers; these shadowboxes make a wonderful, thoughtful gift.
