Milkweed

A handmade paper sculpture of a milkweed plant with a flower and seed pod. Milkweed is such an important native pollinator plant. Although the flowers and seed pods do not emerge at the same time, I have included them both to show the different stages of the plant.

The black wooden shadow box frame is 8.5 x 8.5 inches and 2 inches deep. There is glass in front of the frame. The inside of the box is painted in off-white. There is hanging hardware on the back and it is signed. 

Each of my paper flowers and leaves are handmade with care and attention to detail. The flower and leaves are made from heavy Italian crepe paper. The seed pod is made from paper clay and painted with acrylic paint. Using high quality materials and careful techniques ensures that my flowers and leaves will last a long time. I include care tips with each purchase. This unique shadow box would make a fun addition to a cabinet of curiosities, a bookshelf, or an art collection.
