Tiny house series IV
Two tiny paper houses dwarfed by a burgundy peony!
I created the houses in this series by going around my neighbourhood in Almonte, Ontario and taking pictures of all of the interesting homes. Our street has mostly older homes that are all unique in colour and style. I made the houses from recycled cardboard which I painted with acrylic paint.
I have paired the houses with flowers that seem to tower above the tiny buildings. I love the sense of magic that this juxtaposition creates.
All of my paper sculptures are made carefully by hand with attention to quality and detail. These paper flowers are made from Italian crepe paper that has been layered and painted with acrylic paint.
The flowers and houses are mounted in an 8 x 10 inch open shadow box frame.
