Wild strawberry
A paper wild strawberry plant in a shadow box frame. This tiny plant has flowers and strawberries and leaves. This year was such a prolific season for wild strawberries. I grow them as a ground cover along the edges of my raised beds and I was able to snack on them throughout June and July!
The painted wooden box is 6 x 9 inches and 1.5 inches deep. It is painted light blue/grey with a faint line running around the inside of the box to frame the flower. I have written the scientific name for this plant, Fragaria vesca, on a strip of paper and mounted it in the box with an antique brass label holder. There is hanging hardware on the back and it is signed.
Each of my paper flowers is handmade with care and attention to detail. The flowers and berries are made from painted Italian crepe paper, wire, acrylic paint, and glue. The leaves are made from painted heavy art paper. Using high quality materials and careful techniques ensures that my flowers will last a long time. This flower has been sprayed with a UV protectant to prevent fading. I include care tips with each purchase.
This unique shadow box would make a fun addition to a cabinet of curiosities, a bookshelf, or an art collection. I welcome custom orders for paper flowers; these shadowboxes make a wonderful, thoughtful gift.
